I bet she smelled like smokes.
She smelt like mars bars & fur coats according to the police.
She was too good for Jagger.
She knew what she was getting into– she went through 2 other Stones before Jagger.
From what I heard she went for Mick because she thought he could get her places.
She did quite well for herself without much help,it was a shame seeing her in her self destructive phase,but she is one of the most beautiful,amazing,icons from any era.
I had known who Marianne Faithfull was (Mick Jagger’s girlfriend, what else?), but the first time I heard her voice was on the Chieftains’ Long Black Veil, (1995) singing “Love is Teasin’.” Of course, I don’t imagine she sounded quite like that in her heyday. But I was intrigued, and set out to learn a little more about her. Of course, she turned out to be more than just some rock god’s girlfriend. She sang (to an even creepier effect) on Metallica’s “The Memory Remains” as well.
Man this site is so cool, I’ve had that top picture on my fridge for like a year and then whap there it is, great site hours of goodtimes.
I first heard of Marianne with Metallica, her being the first woman to sing in one of their videos. Learned about her career as a musician. A few years later discovered “Girl on a Motorcycle” (A MUST WATCH!) then I found out about her and Jagger. So, for me she never was someone’s girlfriend. Just some awesome beautiful, talented, girlie kindabadass whose hair I like! She’s the well educated nice family young lady who rebels in a nice, oldschool, well behaved way! I love this combination of porcelain grace and youth rebelion, so European!
